Castelfidardo is a town in the hills of the Riviera del Conero, famous for the artisanal production of the accordion, one of the symbols of Italian music around the world.

The International Accordion Museum set up inside the Town Hall retraces the stages of the history of this instrument and of the artisan craftsmen through a precise and nostalgic reenactment.

The Battle of Castelfidardo, a key milestone in the history of the Italian Risorgimento, fought in 1860, saw the Piedmontese and papal armies clash against each other against the backdrop of this city. Today, this battle is remembered by a monument, unique and made of bronze by the sculptor Vito Pardo, which from the top of a hill dominates a park surrounded by greenery and relaxing atmospheres. This historic moment has marked the city of Castelfidardo so much that the citizens, moved to pity by the great bloodshed, have erected a shrine where the remains of the soldiers of both sides can rest, in a soothing expanse of greenery.

In a charming location, on the Selva hill, built in the second half of the eighteenth century, stands Villa Ferretti. The villa has historical importance, in fact it is located on the site of the sadly famous battle of Castelfidardo. Inside, it houses a large collection of Italian art assembled by Duke Roberto Ferretti; three themes unfold the artistic journey within the villa. The section dedicated to the memory of the Ferretti family, featuring furniture, marble, and drawings; a section dedicated to sacred pieces and religious art; and finally, a section featuring works of art typically from the Marche region.
